Booking Terms

Payment, Cancellation & Refunds

These terms apply to direct JPow Sakura lesson bookings. Please select the rate that fits your travel plans before paying.

Payment and confirmation

Bookings are paid in Japanese Yen through the online booking system. Depending on the option selected, the required payment is either a 30% deposit or the full lesson amount. The lesson price is set by the lesson date: early season (November 21–December 14, 2026) is 15% off, spring (March 16–May 5, 2027) is 20% off, and other dates use the regular price. A successful required payment confirms the booking automatically. Messages and unpaid booking attempts do not reserve a date or instructor.

Standard Deposit

Pay 30% of the applicable lesson price when booking. The deposit is non-refundable for customer cancellation, missed lessons, or no-shows, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The remaining 70% is due 72 hours before the first lesson starts. We send a payment notice with a secure payment link before it is due. If the balance is not received by that deadline, the booking is cancelled and the lesson slot is released; the deposit remains non-refundable.

Full Payment Saver

Pay the full lesson amount when booking and receive a 5% discount by applying code FULLPAY5 at checkout. For early- and spring-season private lessons, the 5% is applied after the date-based seasonal rate. Customer cancellations, missed lessons, and no-shows are non-refundable, to the extent permitted by applicable law. FULLPAY5 cannot be combined with another coupon or discount and does not apply to first-timer group classes or Refundable Full Payment.

Refundable Full Payment

This option costs 10% more than the applicable lesson price (regular or seasonal) and is paid in full when booking. If we receive your cancellation at least 72 hours before the scheduled lesson start, 100% of this payment is refundable to the original payment method. Cancellations received inside 72 hours and no-shows are non-refundable. FULLPAY5 and other discounts do not apply.

First-Timer Group Lesson formation rule

The separate ski and snowboard group lessons cost ¥40,000 per person, run only on published regular-season dates, and require full payment. The ski lesson is taught in English; the snowboard lesson is taught in Mandarin Chinese. General seasonal rates, FULLPAY5, and refundable-rate variants do not apply. Each fixed date requires 3 paid guests and accepts up to 6. Reservations close and the operating decision is made 7 days before the class. If fewer than 3 paid guests remain, that class date is cancelled and each affected guest receives a full refund to the original payment method. A guest may choose 100% booking credit or transfer to another available date instead.

If we cannot provide the lesson

If JPow Sakura cannot provide the booked lesson, or the scheduled resort fully closes and you do not accept an offered alternative, you may choose a full refund, a new date, or booking credit. This protection applies to all three payment options.

Injury or illness cancellation

If you are injured or become ill and cannot ski or snowboard safely, this section applies instead of the non-refundable wording above. Tell us before your next booked lesson. If we receive your notice at least seven full days before your first lesson and you send an eligible medical certificate, we refund 100% of what you paid for the cancelled lessons, less the payment-processing fee, which our payment provider keeps and does not return to us. If your notice arrives less than seven days before the first lesson, or after your lessons have started, we refund 90% of what you paid for the unused lessons, less the same processing fee. A lesson that has already started is not refundable. Without a certificate, we issue 100% booking credit for the unused lessons instead of a cash refund.

Medical certificate and booking credit

A certificate from a licensed doctor in any country is accepted; it does not need to be issued in Japan. It should show your name, the date you were seen, that you cannot ski or snowboard safely, and the dates or rest period affected. Please send it within seven days of telling us. Booking credit is a money balance rather than a set number of lessons, is valid through the end of the following ski season, and is applied to the prices and availability at that time; it cannot be exchanged for cash. Refunds and credit cover lesson payments only. Lift passes, rentals, transportation, accommodation, and medical costs fall under their own providers’ terms, and travel insurance may cover them. If one guest in a shared private lesson cannot take part and the lesson goes ahead for the others, the lesson itself is not refunded; contact us and we will look at your booking individually.

What the lesson price covers

Prices are per lesson and do not include lift passes, equipment rental, transportation, accommodation, or other resort expenses unless the booking page expressly states otherwise. The ¥40,000 First-Timer ski and snowboard group lessons expressly include the standard rental set, wear, gloves, goggles, JPow Sakura helmet and pads, rental coordination, and the stated beginner-area and hourly lift access.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. The price shown at checkout is the total lesson price; no separate 10% consumption-tax charge is currently added.
